notes: 1)When you first start playing, it takes a couple of years before you stop hanging pieces. After a while you develop board vision. It isn't that you are an unusually absent minded player (everybody thinks this). At some point you cross a line and hang WAY less pieces but it takes a while. 2) Everybody loses a lot of games, no exceptions. The people who lose fewer games hate to lose more so they suffer just as much as everybody else in the long run. Chess sucks. 3) Chess is a brutal game but it's not really personal. Losing feels like being insulted but it's not. Winning makes you feel like a genius but you are not. Try to leave your ego out of it. It's impossible, but try. 4) If your position is hopelessly lost, resign. GMs do it all the time, it's proper etiquette. 5) if the chat abusers annoy you, mute your chat. If you are a chat abuser, meaning you vibe people, gloat or try to break their concentration with idiotic menu statements, please stop. It's stupid. And annoying. Thank you. |
